Patch Power

EDUCATE OTHERS!
A few weeks ago some parents were discussing the fact that it is still difficult to take their child out in public with an eye patch on.  The eye patching child endures stares and questions that frankly make them feel uncomfortable. It occurred to us that after 20 years of trying to inform the world about why children wear an eye patch, we still have a long way to go.    There are so many sweet children whose feelings are being hurt because our world is not educated.   Some of our eye patchers have other special needs to deal with which can complicate their eye patching project even more.  Patch Pals has decided to concentrate on educating the world about amblyopia and other eye disorders so people no longer feel the need to ask a small child the dreaded questions "Why are you wearing that eye patch?" or "What's wrong with your eye?"

STOP THE STARING!
Pledge to teach others about eye patching and why it is necessary.  It does not need to be a lengthy conversation.  Simply letting them know that a child needs to wear an eye patch to exercise a weak eye is helpful. Our goal is to move toward a world where an eye patcher feels confident and comfortable wearing an eye patch.  No stares, no questions, no negativity. Find your inner super powers to help change people's perception of the eye patch.

PATCH POWER!
We would like to give a free Patch Power awareness bracelet for you and your child to wear, just let us know when ordering your eye patches in our special instructions area that you would like us to add the bracelets to your package.

GIVE ME FIVE!
Ask your family and friends to educate at least 5 people about eye patching and then ask those 5 to educate 5 more. Soon a movement will begin and Patch Power will be ignited.
